History of Tanneron Bay
Tanneron Bay was developed by Four Oaks Development Corporation and opened to residents in 1997. Prior to that, the over 25 acre site was owned and operated by U. S. Vacation Resorts , as "a private resort on Wooster Lake in Lake County, ILL., catering to the needs of the outdoor recreation enthuiast plus all the facilities and amenities necessary for a relaxing family outing". This was one of several destination resorts for families who purchased shares with the company. It had a large clubhouse with pool and recreational facilities, a large sand beach on Wooster ake, many RV and trailer camp sites, and, of course, boating and fishing. When Four Oaks Development first purchased the land in the early 1990's, it had deteriorated significantly. The name for the new development was initially called Lakeside Park, but later changed to Tanneron Bay.
